‘Jezebel Spirit’… seriously?

sick joke
Hi, about the time Leanne wrote her post on the Jezebel Spirit, I also was writing a post to follow her soon after. A mite bit later than hoped, here it is…”

a couple of quotes to start the ball rolling…

“Jezebel crushes the will, and especially the will of man to make them passive. Jezebel’s main purpose is to destroy the image of Father God from the earth so that people will not want to reach out to Father God.” -Mariett Louw

“When a woman has a Jezebel Spirit she has first of all been Satanically seduced herself. Lets go back to the garden. The serpent came to Eve. He seduced Eve, then he used Eve to seduce Adam…” Jacob Prasch

The use of slandering women with having or operating under a ‘Jezebel spirit’ has been around for ages. Having been personally a past recipient of this smear campaign that instantly discredits your person and voice in the eyes and ears of others of your immediate church family and further afield, I would like to address what the bible actually says concerning Jezebel. Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR – MAY 2018 BE A YEAR OF RESTING AND DRAWING FROM YAHSHUA, OUR HEAD.

Triumphant Son of Love and Glory!

I know you are the victory,

Triumphant Son of Love and Glory!

Your eyes shine love from Your heart

Your mouth speaks truth; whole not part.

Your work complete, rest is ours

Spirit over flesh, disarming old powers.

My flesh is weak but your Spirit willing,

My mind is stirred from Your holy filling.

Through each failure He is there,

Reassuring me of a future clear.

I turn and look and yield again

Toward my Saviour who calls me friend.

Each day in battle, His strong, sure hand

Fighting,  gaining valued land.

I cannot try, my works are dead

I look to Him my Source, my Head

My eyes transfer from shame to Grace

Love’s patient smile upon His face.

I know you are the victory,

Triumphant Son of love and Glory!

Wait, What? God gives Polygamy the O.K?

Polygamy is not a topic I much enjoy thinking about, to me, as a woman and a human being I find it awful. My face screws up if I try to imagine myself in that scenario. It hurts to think about it. When I viewed the content related to the blog post by Christine  a while back about a man that felt it was his right to go against the law of this land and marry more than one woman, I got quite angry at the entitlement of this individual. It would be easy to wag my finger at other religions or sects and feel superior in my moral Christianity, another piece of evidence that our Way is the right Way right? All Christians are against polygamy wouldn’t you say?

Well, consider this comment from a Biblical scholar. A quote from his study of Genesis is below: Continue reading

Time Flies!

We have let over half a year go by without writing or sharing anything.

There is still much to be written about – but sometimes it all feels too big, too hard, and that recurring nagging thought of, “Are my thoughts on topic X really worth sharing???” has to be battled with.

Busyness of life, has kept us from sharing. When we finally do catch up with each other we often say how we must get back to the blog.

Challenging what we once thought was true has been scary and tiring, but too often to ignore it has been so freeing.

Doubt creeps in often – “If I got it wrong the first time why do I think I have got it right this time? And where will it end?” Like layers of an onion, you peel, going deeper, and deeper till what are you left holding onto?

Faith feels weak. You wonder in questioning such things whether you are walking away from your Saviour and slipping off that straight and narrow. Then a tiny glint of hope reminds us that it is He who has got us. Phew!

Her Weakness or Sin?

medium_god-created-man-male-and-female-what-does-it-mean-to-be-complementarianI think I have pretty much written enough about Adam the man. But I need to say some more concerning the woman.

To recap briefly, the Bible, as previously stated, gives us 11 scripture verses revealing Adam’s sin and culpability concerning the ‘fall’ account of Genesis contrasted with the total of 3 scripture verses concerning the woman’s fall into sin, via deception. Though scripture doesn’t explicitly say Adam was a part of the deception in her eating of the fruit (verses clearly identify the serpent as deceiving her) there is room to wonder with his involvement because of:

  1. the text within the Genesis account indicating all was not well with Adam’s heart toward God (Gen 2:18).
  2. her incomplete version of God’s command as given by him.
